Recruitment: Do you have what it takes to be a successful church planter? If you are a person who loves to hang out with the unchurched, enjoys training and equipping people to serve the Lord, and feels called by God to plant a church, you have what it takes. The following resources are designed to help you cast vision for church planting, develop skills, and help you discover if you have what it takes to be a church planter.
Assessment/Selection: This process guides you in planting a church and shows areas you, as a church planter, need to work on. The skills evaluated in potential church planters include: reaching people, resourcing a plant, resolving conflict, stable marriage (if applicable), vision implementation, communication skills, and courageous faith. Resources to help with this include:
Training: The Church Planters Intensive (CPI) uses discovery learning for a church planter to unlock the mission, vision and values in the planter's heart as they engage with their ministry and the people they serve. This helps planters prepare for the public launch of their church and its first year of life. This training is provided for all first time planters in Foursquare:
Coaching: Each church planter has the benefit of a coach to walk with them through the first 18 months of their church plant. This coach is committed to drawing out of the planter what God placed in them so they will reach their full potential. In order for this to happen, the coach must be willing to ask the planter the hard questions no one else wants to ask. Foursquare has created a coaching structure to train up good, quality coaches. Parenting Pastors: When a church plant is parented, rather than planted independently, it starts off with a great advantage. Healthy parenting requires great sacrifice on the part of parenting, but produces great results. This healthy parenting includes:
Leadership Development: Networking emerging leaders with other leaders and resources helps to develop leadership skills in those emerging leaders. We seek to resource both prospective planters and emerging leaders in this fashion. The following are resources to help with this:
